Let's talk for a minute about swarms...
Honey bees live in a social order that we call a colony. When the colony becomes restricted from enlarging it's nest the colony divides.
This dividing is called a swarm. When you see a swarm on your property Call us right away.
These are two different swarms. Both have the same goal, to find a new home.
On the wall means the swarm has found a new home and are moving in. While the one on the fence is still looking.
Once the swarm gets in a cavity they will begin build their nest.
Call us to get the swarm before it moves in, in so doing you will save a lot of money.
Now, the basics of removing a colony...
A colony consist of a laying queen, a few hundred plus workers and a handful of drones. The comb is the nest where the young are raised and food is stored.
Our first priority is to locate the nest. Most of the time it is easy to find.
Once the nest is located the cavity the nest is in must be opened.
Carefully we search thru the comb, looking for the queen. Upon finding her she is caged for her protection.
At the same time we capture and cage most of the workers and remove all the comb.
