Bayer to Save the Bees, Bayer announces a half a million dollars in grants to "FEED A BEE". Sounds pretty great, right?
Since it's founding in 1863, the Bayer group has recently become three subgroups. Bayer HealthCare, Bayer CropScience and Bayer materialsceince.
Bayer has been around for two world wars. Well, on March 9, 2018 the news was released through wraltechwire.com Bayer to Save the Bees using a five hundred thousand dollar FEED A BEE grant program.
These grants have funded FEED A BEE programs in thirty nine States and hopes to cover all fifty States this year. The goal is to find answers to the decline in Honey Bee populations cause by Varroa mite and OTHER FACTORS. Hmm.
This little bug Varroa Destructor has cause many of Beekeeper sorrows. A Honey Bee blood sucking parasite can wipe out entire apiaries in a short amount of time.
Beekeepers throw all types pharmaceuticals in a attempt to save their bees. But, these do not work, and now Lithium is being used.
The simple fact is the so called killer bee, ( by the way, only 100 Americans are killed by bees every year) holds the key to saving Honey Bees from Varroa.
So what are the OTHER FACTORS...
A twenty year study has Scientist alarmed.
Dr. Goulson a professor at the University of Sussex went to the fields of Germany to research flying insect decline. His findings are at the least, concerning.
His study shows that seventy five percent of all flying insect populations have vanished since 1989. The cause is stated by Dr. Goulson as the massive use of pesticides.
Bayer manufactures pesticides, herbicides and fungicides.
